Orlando, Florida – PureCycle Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: PCT) and the Cincinnati Bengals announced a partnership milestone after working together during the 2023 football season. Together, they recycled more than 85,000 pounds of plastic and aluminum at Bengals home games through PureCycle’s PureZero™ program. The Bengals also recycled more than 127,000 pounds of cardboard throughout the season.

PureCycle CEO Dustin Olson said, “This is a team effort. Thank you to the Bengals, Rumpke Waste & Recycling and the Aramark facilities team for their work on this. Together, we have provided a shining example of sustainability for the entire Cincinnati region.” Olson added, “This is proof that organizations that embrace recycling can have tremendous impacts in their communities by keeping waste materials from ending up in landfills and waterways. We’re excited to continue building upon this success in the future.”

As part of the PureZero™ program, the Bengals have been utilizing a multi-step approach to reduce the amount of plastic waste generated at the team’s home games.

“Our partnership with PureCycle has been beneficial to expanding our sustainability efforts,” said Ryan Holmes, Bengals Director of Corporate Partnerships. “It’s great seeing our recycling totals increase from season to season and knowing that these results were driven by our fans and the hard-working team from Aramark.”

During the 2023 season, Bengals fans were encouraged to participate in stadium recycling by disposing of their recyclable products in appropriate bins. After the games, the Aramark team handpicked the stadium bowl for all recyclables. This helped to lower the contamination rates and increase the amount of recycled content that could be processed by Rumpke Waste & Recycling.

“The Bengals organization has put together a strong team, dedicated to delivering sustainability results,” said Jeff Snyder, Director of Recycling at Rumpke Waste & Recycling. "As the recycling leader, Rumpke is excited to see such encouraging results from one of our customers and we remain committed to the continued growth of recycling for our customers throughout the region.”
